RECUPERAÇÃO E DRENAGEM: Comunidade cobra intervenção no Cocó

Lideranças comunitárias, moradores de áreas de risco e parlamentares se reuniram na Aerolândia, na manhã de segunda (14/05), para discutir a recuperação e a drenagem do Rio Cocó.

As obras fazem parte do Plano de Saneamento Ambiental da Região Metropolitana de Fortaleza que deve receber, em 2007, cerca de R$ 320 milhões do Programa de Aceleração do Crescimento (PAC). Ceará e Maranguapinho também estão na lista dos rios a serem beneficiados pelo programa.

Os objetivos do plano, segundo o senador Inácio Arruda (PC do B), são drenar os rios, urbanizar as áreas próximas aos leitos desses recursos hídricos, além de construir e recuperar moradias das famílias residentes das áreas de risco às margens dos mananciais. Aproximadamente 100 mil pessoas devem ser removidas ou ter suas casas recuperadas em dois anos de trabalho, com início marcado para este ano ainda.

Para o Maranguapinho, estão previstos R$ 197 milhões; Cocó, R$ 105 milhões; e Ceará, R$ 15 milhões. Afora Fortaleza, Caucaia, Maracanaú e Maranguape, por terem muitos problemas de alagamento residencial às margens desses rios que os cortam, são os municípios a serem contemplados.

O plano apresentado pela bancada cearense, logo que analisado pela Caixa Econômica Federal, deve ter seu processo licitatório iniciado no segundo semestre de 2007.

“A inserção do plano no PAC é importante porque prefeituras e Estado, sozinhos, não teriam condições de executá-lo”, avaliou a mobilizadora comunitária Auxiliadora Solon Araripe, 42 anos.
